When did you start dancing? About 8 months ago [March 2019] I went on a date – and he took me to a salsa dance social. I had no idea how to dance and always believed that I had 2 left feet, but I had so much fun that I decided to start salsa (New York style) and bachata lessons the following month.
How did you get into ballroom? I went to a NHADBA social. Mostly I watched but started ballroom lessons soon after. I will be starting my 4th month of ballroom lessons in December.
Which dance do you enjoy the most? All of them. Really. I’m probably best at salsa, but that’s just because I’ve done it a little longer than the other ballroom dances.
What dance goal would you like to conquer next? In the future I might join a formation, but for now I’d like to just take lessons and get better.
What are your other hobbies? One of my favorite things to do is to go hiking with my son who lives in Colorado, but I also enjoy biking, gardening, snowshoeing, swimming… anything outside. I also raise meat birds (50 each year), although sometimes that’s more of a chore than a hobby. 🙂
